RMClient is a useful desktop app for tracking time in Redmine. The application offers Redmine users a simple and efficient way to control the time invested on solving issues and completing tasks in the popular project management system. RMClient comes with a couple of extra features to make time-tracking more effective.
RMClient has a straightforward, convenient interface that shows the stream of tasks along with details like project name, description, priority, etc. When you decide to start working, you just need to double click on any task on the list; double-clicking on a task activates the timer, which monitors the time spent on completing this issue. With a couple of clicks, you can change the status of an issue from within the app, as well as the activity and add comments. Any modifications made to your projects will be reflected in Redmine instantly as the app synchronizes the information every 60 seconds.
Among other features, the application includes a search option to easily find active tasks and integrates a filter system to look for issues by projects, status, tracker, and version. Also, when a new task is added to Redmine, the application notifies you by means of pop-up alerts. Additionally, it is possible to change the task list update interval from the settings dialog.
RMClient is easy to set up and use, and the fact that it is an Adobe AIR application makes it compatible with any operating system. Once the app is installed, all you need to do is log in to Redmine using the Redmine server URL and API key, which can be found within your Remine account.
In short, RMClient is a handy productivity tool for users of the open-source project management platform. The app is available as a trial version that can be evaluated during 30 days.
